We are pleased to provide important information and assist with transportation to and from the vessel where you have booked your trip.

At the Port of Rotterdam, access to the terminals is not permitted for private vehicles, and regular street taxis are also not allowed. Instead, visitors and crew members must use designated transportation services approved by the port authorities or relevant ship agents. These authorized vehicles are permitted to enter the terminal areas. This measure is part of the port's efforts to ensure safety and efficiently manage the logistics in such a busy, industrial environment. We are happy to offer assistance with transportation and have strong connections with all the relevant agencies.

You will receive the latest travel information directly from your booking agent, which should be considered as the primary source of information.

A few days before your departure, Driving4uRotterdam will receive the mooring times from the vessel. Please note that these times may change up until the day of departure due to factors such as weather conditions, unavailable berths, or other unforeseen circumstances. Please keep this in mind.

IMPORTANT:

There are several options available for traveling to Rotterdam:

  1. By Car: You can travel by your own car and park it at our free parking lot located near our office.
    Our parking address: Leerlooierstraat, 3194AB Hoogvliet.

  2. By Train: If you prefer to travel by train, we will pick you up at the back side of Rotterdam Central Station.

  3. Pick-up from another Location: If you would like to be picked up from a different location, we can arrange that for you.

  4. Hotel Pick-up: If you have booked a hotel, we can pick you up directly from there.

When should you contact us?

Please send us an email with your details and the location where you wish to be picked up.
The following information is required:

  • Your full name

  • The name of the vessel and expected date of departure

  • The name of your booking agency

  • Pickup location

 

We're responding and provide an update on the expected date and time of the vessel. Sometimes we may ask you to follow up at a later time, as the sailing schedule may not yet be available.

What can you expect from us?:

  • We will keep in touch with the vessel and keep you informed of the date, time and at which terminal you can get on board.

  • We will register you and our driver at the terminal, for this registration we will need your full name and passport number.

  • If you arrive earlier in Rotterdam, it is possible to wait within the restaurant's opening hours. from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM

  • ​You need to order a taxi again for the return journey, As soon as you have an idea from the captain about how and when you can disembark.

  • What services do you offer?
    We are a taxi service, providing transportation from your specified pickup location to the correct terminal at the ship. You have full control over the pickup times, and we will execute your instructions accordingly. Please note that we do not handle hotel bookings or assist with other travel-related inquiries, such as whether bicycles are allowed on board. Our services are solely focused on transportation.
  • When should I get in touch?
    For the outbound journey, one week in advance is more than sufficient; contacting us earlier is unnecessary, as we won't have any details at that time. We typically receive the latest updates on sailing times and terminals a few days in advance or even on the same day. For the return journey, you can contact us when you enter the Port of Rotterdam.
  • Which hotel should I choose?
    Please take into account the departure times from your hotel room, as it may not always be possible to board the vessel immediately. Utilizing this waiting time is easier when your hotel is located near popular attractions. Thon Hotel Rotterdam – This hotel offers modern, comfortable accommodation in the heart of Rotterdam, close to major attractions. Thon Hotel is known for its outstanding customer service and provides a good balance of comfort and price. It is an excellent choice. Rotterdam Marriott Hotel – This hotel offers luxury and comfort in the city center, close to shops and restaurants. It also has excellent public transport connections, making it ideal for business travelers. Mainport Design Hotel – This luxury hotel is located along the Maas River and offers a stunning view of the city. It is a design hotel with excellent amenities, such as a spa and a rooftop bar. Its central location is ideal for exploring both the harbor and the city center. The James Rotterdam – A modern hotel situated in the heart of Rotterdam, near Central Station. It is an excellent choice for those wishing to explore both the city center and the harbor. The hotel offers stylish rooms at a good price-quality ratio. CitizenM Rotterdam – A more affordable and modern option, known for its smart technology and trendy design. It is centrally located, near the market and shopping areas.
  • Am I allowed to use the restaurant on Hoefsmidstraat 41?
    Yes, our office is located in a shared building, and the restaurant is publicly accessible. Sometimes the traffic is in your favor, and you may arrive earlier in Rotterdam. If this happens, you can wait within the restaurant's opening hours. The opening hours restaurant are from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM. KANTINE+ Hoogvliet Rotterdam You may leave your luggage in the car when using the restaurant, and the driver can pick it up with you afterwards.
  • Is the parking address different from the office address?
    That’s correct, the parking address has available parking spaces and is visible from our office window. You can park your car in any available spot on Leerlooierstraat, 3194AB Hoogvliet. It is within walking distance of the restaurant entrance. You may leave your luggage in the car when using the restaurant, and the driver can pick it up with you afterwards.
  • Can I also book the return trip?
    Since the return date is not fixed, it is difficult to book this in advance. You may contact us when you are approaching the Port of Rotterdam. This can be done via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or phone.
  • What GDPR regulations does driving4uRotterdam adhere to?
    Driving 4U complies with the new European privacy legislation (GDPR). Within this framework, the processing of customer and personal data is carried out in a responsible and secure manner. Only authorized employees have access to customer and personal data. If desired, customers can view their data and, if necessary, request corrections. Personal data will be deleted from our systems at the end of the collaboration.
